Having spent the majority of my life living in desert areas, I have come to love their unique beauty. It's amazing to me that anything so sparse and barren can be so beautiful. My first taste of this was growing up in Libya at the doorstep of the great Saharan Desert. I am probably most moved by the natural beauty, peace, and serenity of White Sands National Park in New Mexico, an awe inspiring area of over 80 square miles of natural white gypsum sand where the photographic possibilities are as endless as the desert itself. There's a certain rugged rawness to the desert that I find inspiring, and try to capture in Desert Art Photography.
